WOW what a night!

This fabulous night out in Ventnor Winter Gardens raised a really good sum of £1,200 for St Catherine's Charity - a charity for children with speech, language and communication difficulties which is currently fundraising for a number of things including The Worx, a vocational training unit equipped with specialist assistive computer technology.

Supported by The Malchicks, signed to the same record label, plus local band Amen Boogie Blues and DJ Kaf-Tan, The Pretty Things showed what made them famous and what keeps them at the top of the ranks of Rock Royalty. The aura of Dick Taylor, Phil May and Frank Holland on stage was palpable and the two newer "Pretties" George Perez and Jack Greenwood reminded us all of the 'attitude' that comes with it!

Long may they continue and we all hope they get the recognition they truly deserve in their lifetimes, not just in posterity.

In the words of The Pretty Things, "We were happy to play for St Catherine's and we all enjoyed the evening immensely. It was a fun show & as long as it helped the charity, we are all happy. We were very well looked after & the Winter Gardens is a great old venue - long may it survive - good luck there!" and "It was great fun and everybody from our side were very pleased with the way it was run, the sound, the food and generally had a very good time. We should do it again some time!"
